Glassford Girl: Part 2 (The Emily Heart Time Jumper Series) (Volume 2)
I always thought sci-fi authors must get their ideas from their dreams. If that is true, Jay Falconer must have dreams that are doozies. The idea of time travel is not new, but Falconer takes it to an entirely new level. A young girl has a horrifying experience and begins to "jump" through time. A few people witness her transition and realize over a 30 year period, she has not aged. As she tries to control her "jumping" through organized thought and planning, she is still surrounded by chaos. Chases by teenage gangs, a pedafile, and police complicate her life even more. Emily Heart is living a nightmare. If you are looking for a story that will make you glance up in the sky at night and wonder "what if", this is the series for you. I highly recommend it. I was given a copy of the book for an honest review.

Great read!

This book was such a joy to read. This is book 6 in the "Oklahoma Lovers series" a series that I highly recommend reading. The first book A Run for Love is the story of Jesse and Tori Cochran Priscilla's parents. Priscilla has moved hundreds of miles from home to become the teacher in Dogtown, Colorado makes very excited for her new adventure and if it gets her away from her smuthering, overbearing and loving family.
Mitch Beaumont is waiting for the mail coach to get to town so he and the mayor can't get the mature experienced teach they've hired. The town has been with a teacher since the last one retired.
The closer Priscilla gets to town the more guilty she feels about stretching the truth about herself but she's sure she's right for the job. The minute she gets of the coach and meets Mitch Beaumont he tells her to turnaround, get back on the coach and go home. She'd lied on the contract and being so young and beautiful she will hightail it out of there as soon as she can, just like the last replacement teacher. Priscilla tells him she's here to stay and every time Mitch can he makes it known he thinks she'll leave.
Priscilla might be young but she's strong willed and very smart and she's vowed to maker her way in the world. Mitch has raised his son since the day he was born and his wife died. He thinks his life couldn't get any better he's a successful businessman in a town he's vowed to see prosper and a son he loves. What he doesn't need is a beautiful, sassy and headstrong teach proving him wrong at ever turn.

I absolutely love the Oklahoma Lovers series by Callie Hutton

I absolutely love the Oklahoma Lovers series by Callie Hutton. This book was no exception. I started reading it and could not put it down until the end. There is something romantic to me about the historic west and simpler times. Priscilla and Mitch have an up-and-down relationship as they explore each other's past. Neither one is as they seem at face value.

While a reader does not need to be familiar with the other books in the Oklahoma Lovers series first, I am glad that I had the other books read. This book was like going home to close friends, and spending time catching up on old times that I'd missed between the last book and this one. Callie Hutton is a talented author who draws the reader in and holds one's attention throughout. It's nice to have the consistency of knowing her story is going to be one that I can't put down until the very last word.

This story was a good read I just like more historical romance farther back like the 1800's but it was a good book just not the time period I like most. I love Callie Hutton books and can't wait for her next one.

It's a cute book, but not grammatically correct. It says "let fire trucks past" instead of pass. That's really annoying.

My son really likes the book and can pretty much recite it. However, I get so irritated reading the grammatical errors. I think if Yumi Heo and Scholastic had just pasted the text in Microsoft Word, it might have caught the issues.

Great Book!

Purchased this book at a book store a while back and my daughter loved it so much that I am now buying it for boys 2nd birthday. My 20m old can recognize the different vehicles and signs after reading this book. She loves the pictures and it is very easy to lift the flaps.

This practical guidebook to business concepts is appropriately straightforward in its approach. Kurtzman, a former New York Times reporter and editor of the Harvard Business Review, explains that the volume is "organized to reflect the way normal people do and think about business." Kurtzman identifies "big ideas" as concepts that... reduce the fog of complexity into something simple, solid, tangible, and most of all workable." Not so much a nuts-and-bolts guide to business, this volume focuses on ideas and takes readers through the process of innovation, the fundamentals of sustainability, finance and accounting, and the intricacies of strategy and management. Kurtzman explains that his book can be read either from cover to cover or thumbed through whenever answers to questions about a creative concept are needed. The book addresses such topics as human resources, leadership, marketing, communication and learning from slip-ups (both one's own and those of others). Lending extra credibility to the volume is an impressive roster of contributors, including Michael Milken, 3Com founder Bob Metcalfe, Segway inventor Dean Kamen and Harvard Business School dean Kim Clark, each writing about his or her area of expertise. In keeping with Kurtzman's philosophy of business (it's "one of life's great games, and it is exhilarating"), the book makes for a refreshing and often humorous read. Whether the book's marketing concept (the "box" of the title is actually a slip-case) and high price point will attract readers is left to be seen.
