About the Author
Kathryn Bryant is the creator of the Brilliant Living Blueprint, founder of BrilliantLivingHQ.com, and one half of the Changeability podcast, which she hosts with husband Julian Illman at Changeability.me.
With experience in business and education, Kathryn went from hospitality and pub management, to owning businesses in retail, sports and property. Before moving into education and training where Kathryn pioneered online tutoring in the early days of the internet, helped business owners understand new technology, worked with government, schools and colleges on education and funding policy and connected the worlds of business and education to increase skills and apprenticeships.
With three degrees (BSc Hons, BA Hons, MA) and a postgrad teaching qualification (PGCE) Kathryn loves learning and its power to change lives, but knows that real learning’s not about qualifications but about the choices that understanding ourselves brings.

Take action as soon as you read this - this is the book that can help you change, if you are willing

Personally, I have some great habits... and quite a few poor ones. I find changing the poor ones almost impossible. That's why I picked this book up (free, using Kindle Unlimited!) and I'm very glad I did. As the author says, "Change can be hard but it doesn't have to be. You see, it's not your fault. Change is supposed to be difficult because that's how we're programmed to be. Yet once you understand that programming and how to work with it, you have a way to increase your success in whatever you want to do."
Very appealing - and the book delivers on its promise of explaining that programming and showing how to manage it. It gives tactics, tools, and techniques to help manage change but, more importantly, it shows that all the tools in the world won't help without the mind's agreement to the change.
This rang a bell with me because, while I really appreciate the importance of positive thinking, I struggle with it because I'm something of a human chameleon! I pick up on the moods and negativity of anyone I'm around. I set my mind on something I want to achieve but find myself procrastinating and struggling because my mind is conflicted, due to the emotions of those I spend time with. If you find yourself yawning when other people yawn, you may be a human chameleon too. Be careful who you spend time with - if they are primarily negative people, you may not be as successful as you could be, due to being dragged down by their negativity.
Rather than locking myself up somewhere without people, I needed to develop strategies to change and not pick up on other people's moods, lack of success, lack of motivation, etc. This book is looking like being the thing I needed - and I've read plenty of self-help manuals.
I like the author's relaxed but well-paced writing style. It's an encouraging mix of popular psychology, business/entrepreneurship, and motivational-speak. Think of a good TED talk put into book format and you've got this book. There’s nothing totally unique here, you will probably have come across a lot of it before. It’s been put together in a very good, do-able way here, though.
The downloadable worksheets that accompany the book are very helpful for following the advice in the book.
If you are thinking of getting this book, I’d advise you to take action on what you read immediately. I’ve read too many self-help books that contain great advice that would work if I had put it into practice... but I didn’t – I was too resistant to change. This is therefore a really great book to take action on, because it’s helping you to chance – if you are willing.

Great way to view life!

In reading Changeability I got a new lense to view life that allowed me to learn faster, be happier, and most importantly let things go. Must read for anyone no matter what season of life you are in.

Very Helpful

I really enjoyed this book. Not everything was new to me but all of it was good and useful. I found this book a quick read and immediately applicable. It was nice to be able to take action right away and then keep building.
