Grandpa in the shower looks/feels/smells fishy

For the most part, i really enjoy A Very Touching Book. The illustrations and the humorous way that things are presented are great. Unfortunately, there is one page that makes me hesitate to use this book with the kids i work with. There's a page where the child gets really dirty doing something with Grandpa and then the two hop into the shower together. Sorry, but that smacks of common abusive settings to me. Many, many of my clients have been abused by someone in the bathtub. Maybe Grandpa in this instance was okay, but with the frequency of abuse in such settings, i cannot endorse this as a "safe" setting and have to skip this section with my kids.

I ordered this book because a friend recommended it to me

I ordered this book because a friend recommended it to me. I don't have any experience in my own personal life with anyone being inappropriate with me but I have a friend that was touched as a child. This puts me on high alert (that it can happen to anyone) with my own children and I want to make sure its talked about so if anything ever happens they will tell me right away. My kids are 5 and 6 boys and this book was a little funny to them. The pictures and the words are the real pictures and the real words that adults use. Like Vagina, and penis. It was a little embarrassed to read the words out loud repeatedly but I did it and my boys just giggled. I think the book has a great clear message and I will probably read it to my boys 3 times a year just as a reminder. The book is a little bit long but worth the read. I think the message it sends to children is very clear about who should be "touching them" . It uses a lot of examples like hugging etc.

The description of this book did not match what I received and I do not recommend it unless it's for an adult

I bought this book to assist in explaining to my young boys what is and IS NOT appropriate touching areas on their bodies. This book shows very graphic pictures and was not appropriate to use with them at all. They laughed and thought it was a joke. The book shows everything on men and women in terms of sexual body parts. The description of this book did not match what I received and I do not recommend it unless it's for an adult.
